Methodist Moments- April 2020

Methodist Moments

Faith Through My Eyes
Welcome WorldCommunion Sunday Hi, All! I want to thank for your support as I work on filling in the details of our Parish Website. We have aways to go, but we'll get there in due time. We may be asking some of you to help provide information with parts of the website. Additionally, I want to encourage your feedback! To make this most effective for our parish I need to know what you use on the website, what you don't use, what you want added to the site and what we could do without. Feel free to reach out to me or Michelle in the office at any time! One of the items we launched early on in this process is the Parish Blog. Playing on some of our early Methodist heritage, we…

Pastor Janet’s Jots on Leadership

Pastor Janet’s Jots on Leadership

Pastor Janet's Jots
Pastor Janet’s Jots Proverbs 29 Leadership In my lifetime, I have found that common sense is not always so common, especially these days as the general population becomes less and less knowledgeable about scriptures. Perhaps that is why I enjoy the wisdom found in the Book of Proverbs. As people of God we are called to lead others to Christ. So how do we do that? What makes a good leader? Since many of the proverbs came from King Solomon, the wisest man to ever live, it is natural to expect some of his interest to be directed toward leadership. Proverbs 29 lends much insight to what it takes to be a good leader. Qualities of a good leader: 12:24 Works hard   17:26 Does not penalize people for honesty…

I hope you'll utilize this as a resource to stay in touch with our congregations as we embark on a new age. As the website launches and continues to develop, you'll likely see a number of changes. I really want your feedback as we continue to progress with the site. Some of the most basic functions are up and running, but we will continue to hone the services each week. Sermons are posted in the Pastor's Corner tab. Initially, the sermons are going to be Pastor's written manuscripts, but we will have the ability to add the video very soon. Take advantage of the Daily Devotions from the Upper Room located on…
